Context
Frontend development for squarelovin, a Hamburg-based SaaS platform for Instagram analytics and visual commerce. The platform enabled brands to analyze their Instagram performance and integrate user-generated content into their online stores. Its clients included NIVEA, Jack Wolfskin, Schwarzkopf, Marc O'Polo, and STABILO.
Challenge
The website had to address audiences ranging from social media managers to e-commerce decision-makers and position its two core products—Instagram Analytics and Visual Commerce—clearly.
The product evolved over two years, requiring several redesigns and new landing pages. Each iteration needed to reflect an expanding feature set and client base.
Implementation
The website was developed as a responsive marketing site, initially with Gulp and SASS and later with Bootstrap 4, jQuery, and a revised SCSS structure. Product-specific landing pages and client references supported communication of the two products.
Highlights
- Responsive marketing site: Layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Landing pages: Dedicated pages for Instagram Analytics and Visual Commerce
- Case studies: Client references from NIVEA, Jack Wolfskin, and others as social proof
- Several iterations: Redesigns and feature additions over 2 years
My contribution
As a Frontend Developer, I was responsible for the full frontend development of the squarelovin website, from its initial 2016 version through the 2018 redesign. This included implementing the design, developing responsive layouts, and integrating animations and interactive elements.
Working directly with the founding team in Hamburg enabled short iteration cycles. Feedback could be implemented promptly, while new ideas could be prototyped and tested in production quickly.
